Meet John Haenke

Meet John Haenke

John Haenke has been passionate about fly fishing for almost 50 years. He learned to love the outdoors, hunting and fishing from his father at a young age, and these activities have become an instinctual second nature to him. Haenke spent many years working as an award-winning cameraman in the film and television industry, using his skills and knowledge of the outdoors and fishing to produce content for national and international networks. One highlight of his career was filming with the late Lefty Kreh in tropical northern Australia and Papua New Guinea. Haenke currently resides in the Whitsundays in tropical north Queensland, Australia, where he continues to enjoy guiding fly anglers onto XOS Barramundi, sight fishing the world-class saltwater flats, and exploring the pristine backcountry of his home region.”
